Soulful, relaxing Jazz vocals over traditional Jazz music performed with a contemporary flavor honoring Jazz in its essence. Sylvia.MoonGlow celebrates Sylvia.'s fifth album in five years with SMIRecords in New York. The album signifies the coming together of a great Jazz experience shared with professionals through education, recording, and performance. The Sylvia Kelly All-Star Jazz Band formed as a collective of professional musicians convening at a Monday night Jazz jam. The band members play with other bands and play with the Jazz Band at exclusive venues. The band enjoyed working together to make the MoonGlow album a success. A special thank you to the band members, guest musicians, Keith Asack of Keep the Edge Studios and Tony Schultz of Big T Productions who engineered the project. Thank you to Rajahnah Matra for the technical assistance in the initial stages of the art work for the MoonGlow album.

Lucky Najaar is a special tribute song dedicated to my cousin Lucky, musician, and my piano professor, Craig Najaar, who both inspired my piano playing.

This album is a special dedication to my parents whose love and appreciation for music inspired my musicianship.

Special lyrics adapted by S. Kelly-

Christmas time is here happiness and cheer Fun for all that lovers call their favorite time of year Snowflakes in the air beauty everywhere Winter time and snow inside there’s silence in the air

Beauty everywhere beauty’s everywhere Olden times and golden times it’s ere when you’ve been there Christmas time is here full of love and cheer Fun for all that beauty calls this favorite time of year

Original lyrics written by L. Mendelson-

Christmas time is here happiness and cheer Fun for all that children call their favorite time of year Snowflakes in the air carols everywhere Olden times and ancient rhymes of love and dreams to share

Sleigh bells in the air beauty everywhere Yuletide by the fireside and joyful memories there Christmas time is here families drawing near Oh that we could always see such spirit through the year Oh that we could always see such spirit through the year

The Harvesting Our Crops Music Curriculum Album for Young Children is part of the Planting Our Seeds Curriculum Series that introduces Jazz elements through vocal harmonies, piano, and special guitar accompaniment.

The Harvesting Our Crops Curriculum Album released in 2018, is a sequel to the Planting Our Seeds Curriculum Album for Young Children released in 2015. The curriculum albums are designed to teach children about basic music fundamentals, the names of harvest foods, the process of planting seeds and growing food, and the scientific processes of seasons and weather patterns, which effect the kinds of food that can be produced around the world.

Special thanks to Bob Ledwell, who is featured on guitar in Down by the Bay, and Brian Effinger, whose guitar work is featured on Mr. Sun, The Rain Song, Pollination, and Ring-a-Round the Rosy. Also, a special thank you to the recording and production talents of Brad McCarthy.

Down by the Bay, Mr. Sun, and Apples and Bananas are songs that were popularized by one of the most recognized, professional children’s musicians in the world, Raffi. The Best of Raffi was released in 2017 under the population music category for children.

Pollination is sung to the melody of the Frere Jacques or Are You Sleeping song.

Rain, Rain, Go Away is a famous English Language nursery rhyme for children. The song was written during the war between the English and Spanish people. The origin of the song date back to the period of English history when there was constant rivalry between Spain and England that led to the Spanish Armada in 1588. The stormy weather and the swift nature of the smaller English ships helped to defeat the great Spanish Armada. The stormy weather was the rain. There are many different versions of the Rain song, including the one on this album, and all versions can be used as game songs with young children.

Ring-a-Round the Rosy - None of the versions fit the plague interpretation very well, but they do reveal other functions and meanings: the rhyme is often used as a playful courtship game in which children dance in a ring, then suddenly stoop, squat, curtsey (“curchey”), or in some cases fall to the ground. The last to do so had to profess love for someone. In some versions, this child then takes up a place in the middle of the ring, representing the “rosie” or rose bush. Newell (1883) explicitly states that the game was played like this in America in the 1880s, and European analogs from the same time and later are similar. In many versions, then, the roses and posies signify what flowers often signify in traditional European culture: not suffering and death, but joy and love. This interpretation emerged in the mid-twentieth century, and has become widespread, but it has never been accepted by folklorists, for several reasons. Like most folklore items, this rhyme exists in many versions and variants. The earliest reported versions are cited in William Wells Newell's Games and Songs of American Children (1883).

The Planting Our Seeds album is a music educational curriculum album for young children containing the alphabet song, a counting song, a finger play, a colors song, nursery rhymes, and original children's music about the fun in science and planting seeds.

The Planting Our Seeds Music Curriculum Album for Young Children was composed for the education of young children, using traditional and original children's music to teach children basic skills in learning the alphabet, the numbers, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and the beginning process of planting seeds. The album was written and recorded for children to also develop basic music skills in singing and recognizing the major music scale that ascends and descends the eight-note scale for basic ear training development. The music album is intended to help increase the academic growth in math, visual, and audial perceptions, as well as cognitive development in young children, through learning the sequencing and patterning of music notes, the intervals and relationships between notes, learning to distinguish the contrast in pitch, volume, and frequencies heard and felt in the pulse of music, and learning to tap to the rhythm and keep a steady beat. The artist uses vocal and piano music, as well as a basic two-part vocal harmony for the listening development of basic ear training and for basic enjoyment to sing along.
